7-5, 6-2. Those are the only scores you need to know on the men’s side, as Robby Ginepri and Jesse Levine advanced in straights by the same count against Rhyne Williams and Denis Kudla respectively. Another capacity crowd saw the women’s matches both go to three sets, with Madison Keys and Gail Brodsky eliminating Alison Riske and Coco Vandeweghe. That sets up tomorrows finals beginning at 1pm with Keys and Brodsky.

Kudla fought a hard first set and faded after that. The same thing happened to Rhyne Williams against Ginepri.

Brodsky's Biggest Brooklyn Fan

The women’s matches were notably more competitive. Riske and Keys played two very tight sets, before Riske was overwhelmed by Keys in the third. And Gail Brodsky won a 9-7 third set replete with an angry Vandeweghe and an angry crowd disputing line calls. Brodsky clearly benefitted from the presence of Brooklyn’s own Kangaroo Jack in the crowd, pictured above. Brodsky is always emotional on court and she was at her most ebullient today. She almost looked surprised at the result in the end, after having dropped the second set.
