Introducing New Contributor Jeff McMillan
The Editors, Tennis East Coast
Tennis East Coast is continuing to expand with the addition of a new writer focusing on men’s NCAA college tennis and the futures level of the game, Jeff McMillan. I met Jeff a few years ago at tennis camp and have kept in touch with him through social media. He is a consummate journalistic professional and an avid connoisseur of mens college tennis, along with a keen watcher of the ITF futures circuit, especially for those futures tournaments that take place here in the United States. Those skills will translate well to his new role here as a journalist with Tennis East Coast. Here is a bit about our new contributor.

-Graduated from Clemson University in May 2013 with a degree in sports management.
-Currently attending newly D1 program UIW (Incarnate Word) in San Antonio (resides in SA) for a masters degree in sports management. Expecting to graduate in May of 2015
Had been an avid tennis fan since playing on high school team starting freshman year in SC. Started to closely follow the game in all levels of play.
While at Clemson, played tennis at the club level and traveled with the team to tournaments in Virginia and Georgia among other states. Followed the varsity team closely, attending nearly every home match. Starting in junior year became the manager of the Clemson men’s tennis team. This job had the responsibility of making sure all the players had the proper equipment before matches and practices as well as setting up practice on a daily basis. Traveled with the team to nearly every ACC venue as well as several SEC venues and others where high quality college tennis was witnessed. Also managed the team during senior year at Clemson.
Through experience with the manager position, became very familiar with many college tennis players, teams and coaches and began to understand the college game. Understanding the flow of the game and which courts were most important during the course of a dual match as well as being familiar with the quality of play.
Favorite sport is tennis at all levels. An avid fan of all sports though, also enjoying European soccer leagues, College football (huge Clemson fan, been going to all the home games from 1999-2013) and NBA basketball as the headliners.
Other interests include; watching and analyzing films, worldwide geographical and cultural studies, world history, photography and writing
Favorite ATP players include: Alexander Dolgopolov, Dustin Brown, Donald Young, Kei Nishikori, Somdev Devvarman and Steve Johnson, and support several players in the lower levels of the game, as well as any player who played college tennis and is making a go of it on the ATP tour.
Favorite retired player is Paradorn Srichaphan”
