Ram, Raonic & Sock

Today’s draw at the Campbell’s Hall of Fame Tennis Championships was fast and furious. Would you expect anything less from the state that invented Bess Eaton, Coffee Milk and the quietly furious Mr. Potato Head? The best part of the draw were the very eager long-time boxholders who were engaged by the organizers throughout. It was one big Rhode Island tennis family, and I was a photographer at their reunion. Boxholders were encouraged to pose for photos and the players were happy to oblige.

Tomorrow’s OOP is here. and the main draw is posted here.

In short, here are the highlights of the draw itself. Isner would face Mahut if both win their first round matches, Nishikori takes on Sijsling, Bogomolov nabs Querrey in the first, Kunitsyn draws Sock, Young gets Russell, and four tennis bloggers were called upon to draw a single chip. That pick, never actually touching my hand, forced Rajeev Ram into playing Grega Zmelja. Ram might just thank the bloggery after all is said and done. He could have done far worse.
