Somdev Devvarman capped another exciting day at Charlottesville, winning in three sets over Taro Daniel. Another seed went down today. This time it was Bobby Reynolds in the 6 hole going down to JP Smith. And Jack Sock couldn’t pull off a third comeback for the third day in a row, yielding to defending Charlottesville champion Izak Van der Merwe.

2…………8! Who do we appreciate? The only two seeds remaining, Alex Bogomolov and Denis Kudla. Both stand an excellent chance of winning the event.

It will be nice to see some live tennis tomorrow for the first time in over two months. I couldn’t honestly tell you that what I did in that time was more productive, but I can tell you that tomorrow’s quarters feature an all-Commonwealth slugfest nightcap between Somdev Devvarman and Denis Kudla. To play the primetime quarterfinal at the Challenger is a big deal to both of these guys.
