Open and Shut: Roof Over Arthur Ashe Stadium Valuable in Debut
The new roof over Arthur Ashe Stadium proved beneficial during it’s debut US Open. In total, part or all of nine matches — adding up to 12 hours, 34 minutes and 38 seconds of match play — were played under the roof.
After opening during Phil Collins’ Opening Night performance, the roof closed four times during main draw matches, with an average closing time of 5 minutes, 34 seconds.
